Worried and Unsure What to Expect on Your
First Pregnancy?
Is what I eat affecting my unborn baby?
Did I take too much coffee?
I got brown stains on my pad, what's wrong?
I feel wet, is my amnio sac broken?
Are these some of the questions that are constantly on your mind? I had lots of questions and doubts on my first pregnancy. You know what? It doesn't get better with each pregnancy. Even when I had my third pregnancy and I still had questions and doubts.
You could call your health care giver or your gynae for every doubt and worry but they are not always available to attend to your concerns. What I have learnt is that it is helpful to be informed and you do not need to jump at every symptom that occurs, just be watchful.
I absolutely recommend that you get a book or two on pregnancy, a pregnancy book that clearly describes the baby's growth throughout your pregnancy. A good pregnancy book should also describe as many possible symptoms and problems during pregnancy. By being informed, you can carefully monitor the possible problem which more often turns out to be false sign. Just remember, you don't have to jump in fear, stay calm and let your body tell you if the baby is fine or in trouble.
I believe there are many good pregnancy books in the market but I personally recommend this book by Heidi Murkoff, Arlene Eisenberg, and Sandee Hathaway - What to Expect When You're Expecting, Third Edition . I had this book during my first pregnancy and referred to it during my second pregnancy and yet again now in my third pregnancy. I give this book a five star rating!
I have recommended this book to several friends and they have found the book to be informative and helpful. This book is a must have for pregnant women, it will definitely help you in times of doubts and worries. I even recommended it to my expecting sister and this is what she said, "Everything I went through is described in the book. This book is really good!"
